"How do I" Add items to inventory template |

To add items to inventory template:
1. Select the template you want to modify: (To open inventory template, go Data Entry>Inventories Tab> Profit Center Inventory Form. Select your profit center from top field. Then click on your inventory template. **Note if the inventory is blank with just the inventory locations listed you have selected the wrong profit center) 2. Once the inventory is opened, click the items tab. Here you have 2 ways to add items to the inventory template. · Use the name/reference (You use the arrow down button to pick either name, abbreviation (Vendor Code) or Reference (Vendor Code) ) field at the bottom of the form. As you enter the name, abbr. Or ref # the system begins to narrow the search. Once you select the item you can press the enter key and it will add to the form where the cursor is located on the form. You can also click and hold the item and move it up or down by hold the item and moving it to where you need it. · OR · To use the entire database search press the binoculars icon at the top middle of the form and the database will show up on the left hand side of the screen (will take a few moments to show up). The inventory form will re-size to allow you to see both the database screen and inventory form. Here you can search by name, abbrev, refer #, report group, or key item. When using the name field you can use the wild card % to narrow your search quickly. Once you have located the item you can click and drag it to where ever it is required on the inventory form. 3. Once you have made the changes required, be sure to save your template by click the ?T? icon located in between the check mark icon and printer icon. This will open another window where you can either save as new template or click an existing template to overwrite it. (When overwriting an existing template, it will show an warning dialog asking if you would like to overwrite the old template, Click Yes) 4. It is very important **When editing an template not to press save or stop. This begins another inventory in the system and does not save the changes to the template. 5. Once you have saved the template you exit the inventory form using the either the file exit command or click the X box in the right hand upper corner. When exiting the form it will ask you if you would like to abandon changes to the form, click yes. |
